Budget - Members
In Chronova, project management revolves around tracking team members’ roles, contributions, and labor costs. Each member’s participation is governed by contracts, which define responsibilities, hourly rates, and active periods. Members are categorized as approved or unapproved, depending on their permissions within the project.
Approved Members
Approved members have full participation rights. Their worklogs are processed either automatically or manually, based on the project’s settings. When a member is approved, a contract defines their role, hourly rate, and contract duration.
If an approved member logs time outside their contract duration or has no contract, labor costs default to the project’s standard hourly rate.
Unapproved Members
Unapproved members can still contribute to the project but require manual approval for their worklogs unless Auto-Approval is enabled. If they have a contract, labor costs are calculated based on the contract’s terms. Without a contract, or if the worklog falls outside the contract duration, labor costs default to the project’s standard hourly rate.
Contracts and Roles
Contracts serve as the formal agreement for a member’s involvement in the project. They define a member’s role, their hourly rate, and the duration of their participation. If no contract exists, or if a worklog falls outside the contract period, labor costs are calculated using the default hourly rate.
Managing Members and Contracts
Chronova provides streamlined tools to manage members and their contracts. When adding a new member, project managers can create a contract outlining the member's role, rate, and duration. Approved members can have their status changed as project needs evolve, and unapproved members can contribute, though their worklogs require manual approval. Contracts can be updated, viewed, or deleted based on project requirements.
Worklog Management
Chronova supports flexible worklog approval settings. When Auto-Approval is enabled, all worklogs from both approved and unapproved members are automatically approved. If a member logs time without a contract or outside the contract duration, the default hourly rate applies. When Manual Approval is required, project managers must review unapproved members’ worklogs before they are processed.
Monitoring Participation and Costs
In the Members section, project managers can view detailed information on each member’s role, contract duration, and labor costs. This section helps in making informed decisions about resource allocation and budget management.
